เป็นโปรแกรมที่ใช้ติดต่อกับ FTP server เพื่อดาวน์โหลดหรืออัปโหลดไฟล์ นอกจากนี้ FileZilla ยังมีความสามารถพื้นฐานของโปรแกรม FTP client อย่างการ Edit  File อย่าง HTML,PHP  และยังรองรับการถ่ายไฟล์อย่างปลอดภัยผ่าน SSH (SFTP)
